For more than one hundred years, Woman's Missionary Union has been changing lives! Because of WMU countless thousands have learned about the work of missionaries, given financial support to thousands, witnessed to others about their faith in Jesus and nurtured those who answered His call.  WMU is a missions program. It's specifically defined by each church, that has one purpose; to help the church fulfill its mission by involving all it's members in missions. The WMU consists of various groups, including Women on Missions, Acteens, Girls in Action and Mission Friends.

Woman’s Missionary Union is an organization that believes in putting our faith into action.  Listed below are just a few of the ministries in which our church has been involved:

-Feeding those who are hungry by donating food to the Breadbasket Center

-Habitat for Humanity – serving meals to workers

-Health and Dental Care to those who can’t afford it, through use of the Baptist Men’s Medical/Dental Van

-Helping victims of hurricanes and other disasters

-Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child which provides shoeboxes of toys and toiletries to children in war-torn, and poverty-stricken countries

-Praying unceasingly for missionaries, lost souls, people who are sick and bereaved

-Prison ministries, worship services and providing Bibles and other needed items

-Providing support and encouragement through prayer and gifts to missionaries

-Providing Christmas items for people who might otherwise have little at Christmas

Women on Mission

Women on Mission is a missions organization for women through which women pray for and give to missions, do missions, learn about missions, grow spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, and participate in the work of the church and the denomination.

Our Children's Ministry at Flat Springs Baptist Church is one of our top priorities.  We value our children and realize that they represent the church of tomorrow. To prepare them for a life of faithful obedience to Jesus, we have numerous programs that are specifically designed to aid their spiritual growth and development.  Here are just some of the programs we offer....

GA's
Girls in Action is a missions organization for girls in grades one through six.

We:

learn what missionaries do

pray for missionaries and their work

discover how we can help other people

save and give our money to help tell other people about Jesus

learn about people around the world

have fun with friends!

Acteen's

Acteens® is a missions organization for girls aged 12-17 or in grades 7-12. In Acteens, girls grow toward becoming all they were created to be. Designed with the needs and interests of teenaged girls in mind, Acteens is an opportunity to grow in understanding God, yourself, and others.

Mission Friends

Mission Friends is the church missions organization of Woman's Missionary Union for birth through pre-first grade children.  Its primary objective is to teach missions attitudes and concepts to all preschoolers.  Mission Friends provides missions learning experiences to help preschoolers move from a self-centered focus to a focus on others, to become aware that not everyone knows God's love, and to understand ways they can help others know about God's love.
